It is the overprint along the edges of a design. This is intentionally done since it is impossible to cut precisely to the design’s edges. About 3mm tolerance on either side of the design edge is considered as the industry standard. This implies that the side length of the design will be longer by about 6mm.
CMYK, which stands for colours cyan, magenta, yellow and black, is the combination of
colours that are most commonly used in digital printing or four-colour process printing. To
match the print colour accurately, digital files need to first be changed from other colour
formats into these colours. These colours are then mixed in the printing process to produce
the desired document colour. The best application therefore includes any physical, colourprinted
project design from business cards, to brand merchandise and all the way to
billboards. Adding more CMYK darkens the print ink.
RGB, which stands for colours reg, green and blue, is a colour space used to produce
displays in electronic system such as computers and television screens. Adding more RGB
colour lightens the display. Common applications include visual content such as digital
infographics and photographs as well as online branding.
